    There is a shocking statistic that we lose 50 soccer fields of tree cover every minute. One can only try to imagine the devastating impact this has on the climate crisis on our planet. Often overlooked is the additional misery that this deforestation brings on a more local level. Deforestation on such a scale leads to the loss of wildlife, degradation of soil quality for crops, and increases the risk of flooding and landslides. Trees.org is working to combat these problems through the Forest Garden Program. This program not only plants millions of new trees in areas where they are desperately needed, but also trains local farmers so they can not only help the planet, but also feed their families and escape poverty.
